Oracle Spatial Studio: Self Service Spatial Visualization and Analysis
Want to add maps and perform location analysis on your business data, but don't have experience with spatial technologies? Using the spatial features in Oracle Database can sometimes be challenging for users who are not familiar with spatial analysis. With the new Spatial Studio, it's easy for users and developers to perform location-based analysis on maps with the click of a button. Spatial Studio simplifies the development of web applications, SQL analysis, and REST services using the full spectrum of spatial operators and functions in Oracle Spatial and Graph. We will demonstrate how users can: (i) select database content (tables or views with spatial information, visualize it on a map, customize the map, and share the results, (ii) upload datasets from spreadsheets or shapefiles from GIS departments and start visualizing the contents quickly, and (iii) prepare data for spatial analysis by geocoding, fixing incorrect addresses, creating spatial indexes, and validating existing spatial data. This session is appropriate for business and technical users. It is recommended as a prerequisite to the session 'Technical Deep Dive: Oracle Spatial Studio Visualization and Analysis'.

Starting with 12c Release 2, Oracle Databaseincludes property graphs - a powerful feature that goes beyond relational, to analyze relationships in big data, such as finding the most influential people in a social network, or discovering patterns of fraud within financial transaction data. But how do you get started using property graphs? This step-by-step lab will show you exactly how to create, load and use property graphs in Oracle Database. We will cover how to create a property graph using Java or PL/SQL, how to load data into a property graph from existing database tables, how to create an in-memory instance of a property graph, how to run algorithms such as page rank against a property graph, how to use PGQL (a SQL-like language for property graphs) to query a graph and ways to visualize graph data. Geo-Tagging, Geo-Enrichment, Geo-Fencing, and Tracking for Location-Enabled Apps
Oracle technologies make it easy to include location in analytics, mobile, asset management, and service applications. You can use geo-enrichment to add location tags to business data in databases and data lakes. Built-in SQL, REST, Java, and JavaScript APIs with JSON let you query and analyze information based on addresses, GPS coordinates, coverage areas, territories, or other geographic features. Geo-fencing and tracking capabilities are essential for any application needing to track movement of an object, vehicle, or cell phone. Analysis and Interpretation of 3D Point Clouds Based on Machine Learning
Today, landscapes, cities, and infrastructure networks are commonly captured using LiDAR or image-based remote sensing technologies at regular intervals. The resulting 3D point clouds are digital twins of the captured sites and provide valuable information. Hence, 3D point clouds have become essential for a growing number of geo-spatial applications such as urban planning, environmental monitoring, and disaster management.
In this talk, we present techniques to manage, process, and analyze 3D point clouds. We discuss the potential of AI and demonstrate how a machine-learning-based interpretation can be used to classify data, derive semantics and create insights. We show how the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure with GPUs and Database Spatial and Graph allows for handling and processing of massive amounts of data. The implemented approach opens up new ways for the full potential of large-scale, dense, and time-variant point clouds as required by a growing number of applications and systems.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and National Mapping with Ordnance Survey Ireland
Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi), the Irish national mapping agency, maintains national spatial data sets and creates mapping products for government agencies and the public. Achieving a leadership role in national mapping meant many challenges: dealing with the explosion of remotely sensed data, point clouds, aerial photos and satellite imagery, needing to automate complex workflow processes, and sharing data widely with the public. With the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Spatial and Graph, and Exadata platform, OSi has addressed these challenges. OSi has been using OCI to process large volumes of point cloud datafor point cloud creation, point cloud classification, and change detection. OSi have also leveraged OCI compute processing to automate portions of its imagery flowlines: automatic seam line generation, automated radiometry and the creation and publication of mosaic data sets. OSi are also investigating the possibility of moving its map archive containing data from 1824 onwards onto the OCI platform.

Optimizing Parallel Spatial Data Processing of High Volume Agricultural Data
Agrarmarkt Austria is the federal agency responsible for agriculture. A major task is calculating agricultural subsidies as part of the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union. This challenging task involves high volume geospatial data processing and data validation annually, in a time window of only three days. In this session we will show how Oracle Database spatial partitioning and parallelism were used to process hundreds of millions of land parcels and other geometries in order to calculate agricultural subsidies. With 15 geodetic layers of land cover data containing up to 200M geometries each, and 5 billion operations in the given timeframe, Oracle Spatial and Graph features were critical. The focus of the project was to reach maximum throughput for geodetic operations in SQL and PL/SQL by optimizing read/write operations with spatial indexes while at the same time minimizing storage by means of logical compression.

Using Graph Analysis for Fraud Detection in Fintech at Paysafe
Paysafe provides simple and secure payment solutions to businesses of all sizes around the world. We process billions of payment dollars a year. This, combined with the focus of flawless customer experience and real-time money transfer makes us a candidate for the “dark side” of the payments – fraudsters, money launderers, etc. Every year, the financial industry loses billions because of fraud. To provide the best customer experience, we keep the time window to identify fraud patterns or networks extremely narrowly. Fraudsters bury their patterns in large volumes of data. With traditional data storage techniques such as relational technologies, it is almost impossible to see beyond individual accounts to the connections between them. This presentation will show how Paysafe has implemented Oracle property graph technologies in Oracle Spatial and Graph and Oracle Database, including its fast, built-in, in-memory graph analytics to perform fast graph queries that identify patterns of fraud.

OWL Monkey: An Adaptive OWL Web Application Builder
During my PhD, I designed and developed an adaptive Web Ontology Language (OWL) web application builder named OWL Monkey (OM) for Hydro-Québec (Quebec's provincial electric utility) using Oracle Spatial and Graph. OM permits its users to explore an OWL ontology, build views over it and share them without any prior knowledge of the underlying technologies. Users can then do analytics over those views, use them to update the content of the database or export them. OM is highly generic and can make use of any OWL ontology that respect some basics requirements. This genericity also allows for changes in the data model that spread to applications in production without negatively affecting them. This should result in lower costs associated with application development and maintenance, especially in use cases where the data model is expected to evolve a lot. OM's first application was released to facilitate the sharing of research data on self-lubricating materials between researchers and power plant engineers.

PGQL: A Query Language for Property Graphs
PGQL is a pattern-matching query language for the property graph data model, used by Oracle Database Spatial and Graph and Oracle Big Data Spatial and Graph. PGQL is an expressive, SQL-like language that makes writing graph queries easy - even for non-graph experts. in this session, we provide an overview of the different features of PGQL and provides examples of how to run PGQL queries from a shell and through a Java API. in this session, we also focus on what has recently been added to PGQL and which features are coming. Finally, the session provides a brief overview of how PGQL fits into on-going standardization efforts for property graph querying.

Translating Natural Language to Graph Queries for Financial Crime Investigation
Financial crime investigation is a labor-intensive task. Oracle provides tools (e.g., FCCM Studio) that allow investigators to analyze whether a case involves fraud. To do so, investigators query and analyze databases containing financial transactions through an easy-to-use interface. However, often this interface does not provide enough flexibility. In such cases, analysis may require the development of database queries in SQL or PGQL (for Graph databases). Having to do so is not desirable because (1) it requires business users to learn a (complex) query language and (2) business users need to know about the underlying database schema. To remedy this situation, we have developed a natural language interface to graph databases that provides business users with a natural way to query the databases. In this talk, we present NL2PGQL, which translates sentences in natural language into a PGQL query that can be executed using Oracle Spatial and Graph.

Build Knowledge Graphs with Oracle RDF to Extract More Value from Your Data
Knowledge graphs, a collection of interlinked descriptions of entities, are widely used to enable intelligent applications. Knowledge graphs can play a critical role in applications built on a data warehouse or data lake, which typically collect data from a variety of sources. This data has to be combined and integrated in a meaningful way to be useful in such applications, and knowledge graphs can be used to organize and connect these disparate datasets. In this session, we will discuss knowledge graphs built using the RDF capabilities of Oracle Spatial and Graph. We will illustrate how to define a knowledge graph, create virtual or materialized graphs from existing data (relational tables, CSV files, etc.), derive new knowledge through logical inference, navigate and query graphs using W3C standards, analyze knowledge graphs with graph algorithms, and more. Real-world use cases from various industries will also be shared.

Follow the heartbeat of your activity with real time crowd monitoring
Proximus is the leading telco operator in Belgium. They provide public REST services that give access to some of the data they manage. One of them is the Enco Real Time Crowd Management solution. It monitors the location of mobile phone users and provides a count of users, aggregated in cells of 100x100m. The information is refreshed every x minutes. This simple solution lets you monitor real–time flows of visitors of any kind of activity: monitor the heartbeat of an event, a demonstration or a gathering during the specific time horizon of the activity, and react quicker and more efficiently on (un)expected situations. In this presentation, we show how information is extracted from the REST service using the Event Hub, how it is retained in an Autonomous Data Warehouse service, and how it is analyzed using the Oracle Analytics Cloud: observe how crowd movements evolve over time, on maps and other graphics. We also analyze crowd movements as they appeared in past events.

Oracle Spatial and Graph RDF Semantic Model for BIM Classification & Scheduling
In Oracle Spatial and Graph 12c, Resource Description Framework (RDF) semantic modeling can build data triplestores from relational database content.  The ability to interrogate Building Information Management (BIM) 3D model data and auto-correlate it with master data classification hierarchies provides a means for digital data delivery of object-based information.  Semantic queries can derive results from multiple sources of data across the Enterprise, expose data patterns and equivalencies, as well as normalize content to and from a given data standard. The key for reliable, quality inferencing is having an initial source of pedigreed Master Data content as the basis for this mapping.
