Arijit Das is a computer scientist with BS/MS degrees in Computer Science (MNREC, India & Oregon State University) and an MSEE from University of Nevada Las Vegas. He currently is a research faculty at the Computer Science Department of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, teaching courses in Java/Data structures/C/Android Development/HTML5/AJAX/Javascript and Databases/Big Data, thesis advising MSCS students, and doing applied software research in the areas of Databases & Big Data, for the Department of Defense. He and his team have built a commodity hardware based HDFS cluster to process Gigabyte to Terabyte size files. He also presents in events like Collaborate, Kscope, NoCoug, BIWA and OOW.
